Skills and other interests
- Sending advocacy letters for Amnesty international and promoting their campaigns on social media; similarly with Change.org and Greenpeace
- OX5 Run (5 miles around Blenheim palace) – I raised a total of £295 for Oxford Children’s Hospital; and £75 for Children with Cancer raised on The Jericho Fun Run
- Volunteering at ‘The Base’ for Cherwell School (supporting students who are struggling academically and socially)
- Touch typing
- Drumming (formerly performing at grade 5)
- Black belt in Karate (1st Dan Seiwakai and 1st Dan JKF GOJUKAI); attending Black belt 2nd Dan training and assessment in Japan August 2019
- Competing at karate competitions (namely the ‘Kaizen Cup’ and the ‘SRK Open Championships’)
- Reading books, writing creatively, analysing films; some of my creative interests are represented at jackedwardnichols.co.uk; lately I have been drawn to Russian writers (Checkov, Nabokov, Bulgakov and Dostoyevsky)
- 2016-2019 Copy-editing and proof-reading novel, Forged for Claret Press, a coming of age story of a girl in a domestic abuse situation
